Grantley Hall, Yorkshire
After 300 years as a private home – a tenure in which it hosted royalty and many other distinguished guests – Grantley Hall (pictured above and on the previous slide) has been reborn as a splendorous 47-room hotel. With the Yorkshire Dales as its backdrop, the Grade II listed pad is sure to be a cosy, elegant affair. What’s more, multiple dining options show an ambition to be part of the region’s culinary scene – most exciting is a homecoming for chef Shaun Rankin, heading up an eponymous fine dining restaurant with a kitchen garden. Signature dishes will include Yorkshire rhubarb crumble.
