The American actor Robert Guillaume died on October 24th at the age of 89, following a battle with prostate cancer.
A star of stage and screen, Guillaume was arguably best known for his role as sarcastic butler Benson on the Seventies sitcom Soap, a role he reprised in his own spin-off, titled Benson.
Other major work included voicing Rafiki in the animated classic The Lion King, and a regular role on the cult comedy Sports Night.
He was also the first black actor to perform the role of The Phantom in a staging of The Phantom of the Opera.
