Market report: No respite for Woodford as investors lose their patience

Shares in Woodford Patient Capital Trust hit an all-time low yesterday, having lost a fifth of their value since Neil Woodford blocked investors from accessing his flagship Woodford Equity Income fund almost two weeks ago.

Individual investments in Patient Capital Trust are also facing harsher scrutiny, including the portfolio’s largest holding, the energy technology company Industrial Heat, which accounted for 6.25pc of the £883m portfolio at the end of 2018.

The embattled manager’s Patient Capital investment trust fell 1.5p to close at 58p.

Elsewhere the FTSE 100 slipped back 22.79 points to close at 7,345.78, after a day of subdued trading, while the FTSE 250 ended 54.03 points lower to 19,118.34....
